Wes Osswald is Vice President of Business Development and Energy Practice Lead for Tangram Insurance Services. In his role, Wes is accountable for revenue generation, profitability, and client satisfaction specifically in the fuel and propane program. He is responsible for Tangram’s results on a nationwide, program level basis. Total premium written by Tangram in this niche exceeds $50 million. In addition to business development responsibilities, as Practice Lead, Wes plays a critical role in advising sales, underwriting and risk management staff on current and emerging issues as well as best practices related to the fuel and propane industry.

Wes has over 20 years of business experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on fuel and propane for the last 12 years. During his career, he has built his reputation on working with the highest level of integrity, professionalism, innovative strategic thinking, and a commitment to advocating for insureds within this highly specialized niche.

At Tangram, Wes is a member of the leadership team and plays an integral role in the strategic growth of the company and the energy program.

Wes began his career as an insurance broker in 1999. In 2002, he took the opportunity to begin working in insurance program management for one of the largest insurance brokers in the nation. Beginning in 2009 and prior to joining Tangram in 2018, he spent close to 10 years in a leadership role with the nation’s largest MGA solely focused on the energy space. He was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day sales initiatives for the Northeast Region, which wrote over $65 million in premiums, and the oversight of a 16-member regional team.

Wes holds a bachelor’s degree from Plymouth State University and a master’s degree from Clemson University in South Carolina. He is a proud Veteran of the United States Army and the recipient of several accommodations for meritorious service and achievement. He currently lives in New Hampshire with his wife and two children.
