Rekha said: “There is a lot of work to be done, but I think we can stop for a second, enjoy the view and keep going, knowing that there are more women that are moving into important senior positions outside of just traditional human resources and marketing, and that’s happening on every level, whether it’s MGUs, whether it’s insurance companies, whether it’s brokers.”

Rekha is also the chairperson for and a featured speaker at the upcoming Women in Insurance Los Angeles on October 11. She expressed a desire for the event to encourage women to have a larger presence in the insurance industry, saying:
“Any time you have an event, you hope you light a match – that there is inspiration that leads to action – and I think for me personally, my biggest call to action would be women leaving that room with the confidence to take some leap or some risk that maybe they hadn’t been willing to take or encourage somebody else to do the same. I think we operate from a much safer place in our brains, we emotionally talk ourselves out of things, and I want to push women to be more courageous with themselves and with others.”
