Susan joined Tangram Insurance Services and Insurance Services as the director of financial services in June 2003.
Prior to Tangram, Susan was the Financial Director for the Royal + SunAlliance's' alternative risk venture, Artis. As Financial Director for the West Coast office, Susan oversaw all financial and contractual aspects of the Artis alternative risk programs. She was responsible for all credit and collateral management decisions as well as quality control oversight for all captive and professional reinsurance agreements in support of those programs.
From 1980 until 2001, Susan held a variety of financial and operational management positions with the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company.
Her positions with FFIC included Senior Accountant in the Company's Corporate Controllers Department from 1985-87, where she worked extensively on the preparation of the Company's Annual Statement. This included the preparation of reports both for senior management and various regulatory agencies.
Susan held several positions with FFIC's National Accounts Department from 1987-97, including Accounting Manager and Credit Director. In these positions she was responsible for the premium and deductible collections as well as for the overall management of the Company's credit risk exposure on FFIC's largest commercial accounts.
As Finance Director for FFIC's Diversified Risk Department from 1997-2000, Susan managed the financial plan and results for the Company's $200M alternative risk department.
Susan also held the position of Finance Director for the FFIC's Customer Focused Ventures unit (2000-2001), which developed new distribution vehicles for FFIC mainly through Web based product approaches. She managed the department's accounting, operations and finance staff.
Susan holds a BA, Business, from Sonoma State University and an MBA from St. Mary's College of Moraga, CA.
